BYD Dolphin — Fluids, Capacities & Specifications

Written and edited by Ethan Cole, Editor-in-Chief · ✓ Technically reviewed by Daniel Wei Chen — Senior Chinese Automotive Diagnostics & Repair Specialist, Sydney · 22 August 2026.

From the official Australian manual (archived): the Dolphin’s fluids follow the Atto 3’s pattern with two twists — the gear-oil quantity depends on which motor your variant has (450 mL for the 70 kW Dynamic, 600 mL for the 150 kW Premium), and the brake fluid listing names HZY6 alone. One more variant-split hides at the rear axle: the rear brake-disc wear limit depends on which rear suspension your car has.

Source: official BYD Dolphin owner’s manual, Australian edition (Vehicle Data pp. 186–189; archived with checksum). HZY6 is the Chinese national brake-fluid standard equivalent to DOT4-class fluid — BYD lists it as the specification here; on the Atto 3 both names appear. The coolant circuit serves the drive system — dealer territory.

The suspension split — check before machining or buying discs

Front brake disc23–25 mm serviceable range
Rear disc — twist-beam rear suspension9–11 mm
Rear disc — four-bar-link rear suspension10–12 mm
Padsfront 2.5–8 mm · rear 2–6.5 mm

Even the rear-camber alignment value splits by suspension type (−1.38° vs −1.07°). Which one is yours follows the variant — a workshop quoting one blanket number for “a Dolphin” hasn’t read this table.
