Chery Fault Codes, Explained in Chery Context

Standard code definitions (SAE J2012 / ISO 15031-6) connected to what we’ve actually documented across Chery, Omoda and Jaecoo. Two honesty notes up front: Chery’s DCT and hybrid control codes are manufacturer-specific and publicly undocumented — anything a generic reader shows as P17xx/P18xx on these cars needs dealer-level tooling, and we don’t pretend otherwise. And one non-OBD warning outranks every code here: a brake warning light on a 2023–26 Tiggo 8 PRO or 2022–23 Omoda 5 means checking the brake-line recalls before anything else.

How to read a code without fooling yourself

Code definitions per SAE J2012; Chery context from our per-model problems research and the official Australian recall register. Manufacturer-specific codes without public documentation are not published.
