The Sealion 7 shares the Seal’s platform and its gear oil — Castrol BOT-383, not the BOT384 in the Atto 3 and Dolphin — but not its tyre pressures. Where the Seal runs staggered 250/290 kPa, the Sealion 7 runs a uniform 290/290, rising to 310 at the rear when towing. A tech who “knows BYDs” from the Seal will set the front 40 kPa low; one who knows the Atto 3 will order the wrong oil. Check the sticker, match the number.
Fluids — official specifications
| Item | Specification | Amount |
| Rear drive-unit gear oil (all versions) | Castrol BOT-383 | 1.55±0.05 L |
| Front drive-unit gear oil (AWD only) | Castrol BOT-383 | 1.6±0.05 L — the front holds slightly more, as on the Seal |
| Brake fluid | HZY6 / DOT4 | 1.15±0.05 L |
| Motor-controller coolant | Glycol OAT long-life, −40 | 6.05±0.2 L (RWD) · 6.65±0.2 L (AWD) — well above the Seal’s 4.8/5.3 |
Source: official BYD Sealion 7 owner’s manual, Middle East edition (Vehicle Data pp. 202–206; archived with checksum). BYD’s Australian download centre did not list a Sealion 7 manual at the time of writing — mechanical specifications are model-level, but if the AU edition surfaces with different values, we’ll say so here. The BOT-383/BOT384 split: same rule as the Seal — match the oil number, not the brand badge.
Powertrain — the Seal’s mixed-motor AWD, carried over
| Rear motor (all) | TZ200XYT — permanent-magnet synchronous, 230 kW peak |
| Front motor (AWD) | AC asynchronous (YS210XYA control), 160 kW — the same deliberate PMS+induction mix as the Seal |
| Gradeability | RWD 30% · AWD 50% |
| Battery | Blade LFP, 150 Ah — identical rating to the Seal |
| Consumption | 17.0 (RWD) / 17.9 (AWD) kWh/100 km NEDC · 19.9 / 21.4 WLTP |
Workshop data
| Tyre pressures | 290/290 kPa uniform · rear 310 when towing a trailer — not the Seal’s staggered setup |
| Tyres | 235/50 R19 + 255/45 R19 (staggered sizes, equal pressures) · or 245/45 R20 |
| Brake discs | front 32 mm (min 30) · rear 20 mm (min 18); pads front 12 mm (min 2) · rear 6.5 mm (min 2.5) |
| Alignment (kerb) | front camber −0.5°±0.75 · caster 6.09°±0.75 · rear camber −1°±0.5 (full toe values in the archived manual) |
