No Australian recalls on the Sealion 7, and its documented patterns are software-led: a “Power Limited” warning that is almost never the battery, the DiLink audio dropout shared with the Seal, and driver monitoring that scolds you for checking your mirrors. One widely-repeated charging claim didn’t survive contact with measured data — we’ve laid out both sides below rather than repeat it.

1. The yellow “Power Limited” warning (2025–26)

It appears at highway speed, sometimes with a real cut in torque. Documented cause: a software logic error in the Power Domain Control, or a communication glitch between the battery sensors and the motor controller — rarely a physical Blade battery fault. A stop-and-restart power cycle usually clears it; the permanent fix is a service-centre firmware update recalibrating the sensor thresholds. Insist on the update rather than the shrug: an intermittent warning that keeps returning after power cycles is exactly what the recalibration exists for.

2. Audio that dies entirely — safety sounds included

Radio, navigation prompts, parking beeps, indicator clicks: silent. It’s the DiLink 5.0 audio-module hang we also document on the Seal, aggravated by simultaneous Bluetooth and wireless CarPlay handshakes. Hold the volume roller ~10 seconds for the reboot; OTA v1.2+ targeted the handshake bug. Until your car has it, pick one phone connection method and stick with it.

3. Fatigue monitoring and ADAS that read too much into a glance

Yawn, check a mirror, wear polarised sunglasses — the DMS may call it fatigue. ANCAP-tuned sensitivity plus eyelid-tracking logic. Settings soften it but reset to Standard at every start. One practical tip from owner reports that actually works: keep the A-pillar camera lens clean — grime measurably raises the false-positive rate.

4. The DC-charging claim — what the data does and doesn’t support

Declared conflict. Owner-aggregated reports claim charging throttles below 80 kW once past 50% state of charge, worsening on successive road-trip stops. Independent measured charging curves tell a different story: ~164 kW average across 10–80% in single-session tests — no cliff at 50%. Both can’t describe the same single session. What the measured data can’t rule out is heat-soak on the second or third consecutive fast charge, which is where the complaints cluster. We publish both sides and say so rather than guess.

Whatever the curve, the practical guidance is uncontested: pre-condition the battery via navigation before a DC stop, and charge in the 10–50% window where every test agrees the car is fastest.

5. Early-build interior rattles and the Piano Black problem

Early 2025 cars: ticking and plastic creaks from the dash and the rotating-screen mount — trim clips and missing damping material, fixed under warranty with felt tape at the junctions. The Piano Black console scratches with fingernails and keys; owners fit clear protective film. Cosmetic, cheap to address, and worth noting at delivery inspection rather than month six.
