Deepal E07 — Owner's Guide
The E07 is Deepal’s electric crossover-ute — the brand’s own word for the shape is “Multitruck”. One thing on this page outranks the warranty numbers: if a child seat ever rides in your E07, stop reading and check your VIN against recall REC-006560 now. Then the layers: 7 years / 160,000 km on the vehicle — unless the ute works for a living, in which case the commercial-use clause cuts cover to 1 year / 120,000 km. On a vehicle shaped like a work tool, that clause is the page’s second headline.
You bought a ute for work. What does that do to the warranty? (the tool-of-trade trap, doubled)
The handbook prints the commercial list in full: taxi, hire, rental, driving school, delivery/courier, tool of trade — and cuts cover for all of them to 1 year / 120,000 km. “Tool of trade” matters twice as much on this model, because an E07 is exactly the kind of vehicle bought to carry ladders, tools and invoices. In the handbook’s terms, that E07 is a one-year vehicle, not a seven-year one. Get the dealer’s written reading of the clause, against your actual use, before you sign — that answer belongs in your negotiation.
What does the warranty cover, layer by layer?
| Cover | Term | The line to read twice |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle | 7 years / 160,000 km (whichever first) | Drops to the row below under commercial use |
| Commercial use — taxi, hire, rental, driving school, delivery/courier, “tool of trade” | 1 year / 120,000 km | The tool-of-trade trap — above |
| HV battery | 8 years / 240,000 km | Capacity fade excluded as normal wear; no printed SoH floor; periodic health checks required |
| Electric Drive System & Vehicle Controller | 8 years / 150,000 km | 90,000 km short of the battery’s cap |
| 12V battery | 1 year / 20,000 km | The 12V asterisk again |
| Roadside assistance | 12 months, complimentary | 1800 020 371 — one year, not seven |
How well is the battery covered? (the powertrain split and the missing floor)
Battery: 8 years / 240,000 km. Electric Drive System and Vehicle Controller: 8 years / 150,000 km — 90,000 km short of the battery’s cap and 10,000 km short of the vehicle warranty itself. The battery text excludes capacity fade as normal wear, prints no state-of-health floor, and requires periodic battery health checks — those are dealer diagnostics; high-voltage checks an owner can safely perform at home: none. Keep every check stamped: that trail is your claim evidence.
What else is in the small print?
- 12V battery: 1 year / 20,000 km — the same short-12V pattern we’ve documented in BYD’s warranty texts.
- The odometer clause: a tampered or altered odometer that makes it impossible to verify whether the car has passed 150,000 km renders the warranty expired. On a used work ute, make the service trail prove the mileage before money moves.
- Roadside assistance runs 12 months, complimentary (1800 020 371) — the warranty runs seven years; roadside doesn’t.
What does servicing cost?
Two drivetrains, two capped totals over 7 years / 140,000 km: $2,954.59 (RWD) and $3,143.91 (AWD Performance). The AWD premium doesn’t spread evenly — the service schedule page shows exactly where it lands, and the one service where the AWD is cheaper.
