GWM Ute Cannon — Owner’s Guide

⚠ Two recalls on this family: 2023 Cannon diesel fuel-filter O-ring (fire risk, 2,872 cars) and Cannon Alpha steering-harness (loss of steering/engine shutdown, 2,457 cars) — check your VIN now.

The Cannon is GWM’s workhorse — and its two engines follow two completely different service regimes: the 2.0L gets a 6-month/5,000 km first service then 10,000 km steps (a ute that works gets checked often), while the 2.4L follows the familiar 10-then-15-thousand pattern. Same badge on the tailgate, different diary on the fridge — identify your engine before booking anything.

Which Cannon do I have?

VersionInterval patternEligibility window
Ute Cannon 2.0L6 mo/5,000 km first, then every 12 mo/10,000 kmstandard (to 3 mo/3,000 km late)
Ute Cannon 2.4T12 mo/10,000 km first, then 15,000 km stepstighter: only 2 mo/2,000 km late
Cannon Alpha (Diesel)7-service program, own sheet (archived)tighter window too

From GWM Australia’s official CPS documents (archived). Note the tighter program window on 2.4T/Alpha — a working ute that misses it by 10 weeks loses capped pricing for good.
