MG3 Running Costs — Australia
The MG3 is one of the cheapest cars in Australia to keep on the road: $1,827 (CVT) or $1,921 (Hybrid+) in capped servicing over five years, and — unlike every MG HS and the ZS Hybrid+ — the whole MG3 range runs on cheap RON 91, hybrid included. The hybrid’s official figures are striking: 4.3 L/100km combined and 0.9 L/100km urban — town driving is where it earns its premium back.

Fuel — official government figures (all RON 91)
| Variant | Official combined | Urban | Fuel per 15,000 km/yr | GVG annual cost* |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hybrid+ (2024–) | 4.3 L/100km | 0.9 L/100km | ≈ 645 L | $1,162 |
| 1.5 CVT (2024–) | 6.0 L/100km | 7.8 L/100km | ≈ 900 L | $1,621 |
| Old 1.5 4AT (2018–24) | 6.7 L/100km | 9.2 L/100km | ≈ 1,005 L | $1,810 |
*Australian Government Green Vehicle Guide (greenvehicleguide.gov.au, retrieved 19 August 2026). GVG’s annual cost assumes 14,000 km/year at last-quarter average retail fuel prices; litres-per-year is our arithmetic on the official figure at 15,000 km/year — both assumptions stated so you can rescale to your own mileage. The hybrid’s 0.9 L/100km urban figure is a laboratory number — treat it as “the hybrid is at its best in town”, not a promise.
Warranty — Australia
10 years / 250,000 km new-car warranty with roadside assistance on current models. Older cars (2011–2024 fleet) carry the warranty terms in force when sold — most are now out of warranty, which makes the known-problems checklist and correct fluid specs the real cost-control tools.
