MG3 Owner’s Guide (2011–present)
The MG3 splits cleanly in two: the 2011–2024 petrol hatch — one of the largest out-of-warranty Chinese-brand fleets on the road — and the all-new 2024 third generation with the Hybrid+ powertrain. Two recalls apply across these cars, including one announced in November 2025 on the new car: check both before anything else.
New MG3 (2024–25): AU REC-006468 / UK R/2025/434 — in a collision the driver-seat frame can contact the unlocking lever and the seat may shift (10,516 cars in Australia alone).
MG3 2021: AU REC-001632 / UK R/2021/216 — fuel-tank strap bolts below specification; tank movement and fuel-leak risk.
