The third-generation MG3 — petrol and Hybrid+ — takes 4.0 litres of 0W-20 (ACEA C5 / API SP) at an oil change. The rest differs by gearbox, and the new MG3 has three of them — check which is yours before buying fluids.

Where these numbers come from: the official MG3 owner’s manual (Middle-East edition), read directly. On our verification ladder that is OEM-verified — one official primary document, the one case where a single source is enough. Until 28 August 2026 this note argued its confidence differently: it said the figures also matched the fluid table in the UK manual for the MG ZS, and called that two documents from two markets. Both halves of that were wrong. The ZS manual covers a different model, not a different market for this one; and MG publishes both, so the comparison was never an independent check. Whether an MG3 and a ZS share a powertrain closely enough for one manual to speak for the other is a technical judgement, and nobody qualified has made it here.
