MG3 (2024–present) Oil Type, Capacity & Fluids
✓ Technically reviewed by Daniel Wei Chen — Senior Chinese Automotive Diagnostics & Repair Specialist, Sydney · 19 August 2026
The third-generation MG3 — petrol and Hybrid+ — takes 4.0 litres of 0W-20 (ACEA C5 / API SP) at an oil change, the same specification as every modern 1.5-litre MG. The rest differs by gearbox, and the new MG3 has three of them — check which is yours before buying fluids.
Engine oil
| Grade | 0W-20, ACEA C5 & API SP |
| Capacity (service fill) | 4.0 L |
Coolant (OAT glycol)
| 1.5L petrol (MT & CVT) | 6.2 L |
| Hybrid+ | 6.4 L + drive-motor circuit 3.4 L |
Gearbox fluids — three different boxes
| Gearbox | Fluid | Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| Hybrid 3-speed (HT11) | Castrol BOT794 | 1.5 L |
| Manual (MS35) | Castrol BOT503 | 1.8 L |
| CVT (TS12) | Shell SL2100 | 6.86 L |
Other fluids
Brake fluid: DOT 4, 0.75 L · Washer: 1.5 L · A/C refrigerant: R-1234yf 0.46±0.02 kg.
Why we’re confident in these numbers: they come from the official MG3 owner’s manual (Middle-East edition) and they match — value for value, down to the gearbox codes — the fluid table in the UK manual for the MG ZS, which shares this powertrain family. Two official documents, two markets, identical figures. First-generation (2011–2024) MG3 fluids differ — see the dedicated older-generation guide.
