MG4 Service Schedule & Costs

✓ Technically reviewed by Daniel Wei Chen — Senior Chinese Automotive Diagnostics & Repair Specialist, Sydney, Australia · 19 August 2026.

The MG4 carries the longest service interval in the MG range: every 25,000 km or 12 months in Australia — two-thirds more distance between visits than any petrol or hybrid MG (15,000 km) — with capped prices starting at $149. No engine oil, no spark plugs, no fuel filters: an EV’s schedule is mostly inspections, brake fluid and cabin filters, and the prices reflect that.

Australia — intervals and capped prices

Interval: every 25,000 km or 12 months, whichever comes first. For most drivers (Australian average ≈13,000–15,000 km/year) that makes the 12-month clock, not the odometer, the trigger for every single service.

United Kingdom — intervals

MG Motor UK’s servicing page states the standard 15,000-mile / 12-month schedule for current models, but note that MG sets EV-specific intervals separately where it publishes them — Australia’s official EV interval (25,000 km) differs from its petrol interval, and we have not yet verified a UK MG4-specific figure from an official document. Until we do, confirm your interval with your UK dealer or service booklet rather than assuming either number.

What’s in each service?

The per-service checklists are not published on the official pages. Typical EV items — brake fluid changes, cabin filter, coolant inspections, tyre rotation — appear in the owner documentation, and the verified fluid specs (including the heat-pump refrigerant trap) are on our MG4 fluids page. We’ll publish the itemised breakdown once verified from official schedule sheets.

Don’t skip services because it’s an EV. The 12-month clock still applies, warranty conditions still require the stamps — and on a used MG4, a full service history is also your evidence trail for battery-warranty claims.
