MG ZS 1.5 (2017–2024) Oil Filter Cross-Reference

✓ Technically reviewed by Daniel Wei Chen — Senior Chinese Automotive Diagnostics & Repair Specialist, Sydney, Australia · 19 August 2026.

The first-generation MG ZS with the 1.5 VTi engine (code 15S4C, 78 kW) takes a spin-on oil filter listed as MANN W 713/28 in MANN-FILTER’s official application catalogue, cross-referenced to original number LPW100180. If that number looks familiar to older MG hands — it should. Details, dimensions and the story below.

The K-series connection. This same filter serves the MG Rover era — TF, ZR, MGF — plus the Lotus Elise/Exige and SAIC-era MG3 and MG6. The ZS’s naturally-aspirated 1.5 traces its lineage to that engine family, and the oil filter carried straight through. Practical upside: this is one of the easiest filters to find anywhere MG has ever been sold.

While you’re servicing: cabin filter

Same catalogue session, same engine variant: cabin (pollen) filter MANN CU 20 078 — note it is listed in separate left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive fitments, so specify your market. The fuel filter is listed as a life-time unit: not a scheduled service item on this engine.
