Chinese-Brand Warranties in the Gulf — the Full Comparison

Every passenger-vehicle warranty we verified in the Gulf says six years. The kilometres say everything else: 150,000 at BYD, 200,000 at MG and GWM’s SUVs, 250,000 at Omoda & Jaecoo — with a million-km engine programme on the Tank and exactly one printed battery capacity floor among the four. No brand publishes service prices, so this table is the Gulf’s whole published cost story. Every number below comes from official pages read and archived on 25 August 2026; every gap is declared, not papered over.

Who wins — by buyer, not by brand
- Distance keepers: Omoda & Jaecoo’s 250,000 km cap is the highest in the Gulf — 100,000 km more than BYD’s, and equal on distance to MG Australia’s 10-year / 250,000 km new-car warranty, four years short of it on time. But read its electronics tier (36/60k) and note the guarantor’s name before you count the difference.
- EV and PHEV buyers: MG and BYD print the same 8-year / 200,000 km battery headline; only BYD prints the ≥70% floor — the one degradation number in the Gulf you can hold a dealer to. MG’s MG 8 PHEV runs 80,000 km short of that headline besides.
- High-mileage working drivers: the Tank’s 10-year / 1,000,000 km engine and transmission programme has no rival in this table — but it’s a drivetrain promise, not vehicle cover, and the commercial ladder steps down fast (Poer 150k, Wingle 3yr/100k).
- Cost-sensitive buyers: with zero published prices, the visible cost signal is the calendar — and MG’s 10,000 km / 6-month intervals are the busiest here, 33% shorter than the same badge’s schedule in Australia. Long cover, frequent visits: budget the calendar, not just the sticker.
- The odometer-heavy commuter: BYD’s 150,000 km vehicle cap is the first passenger-car cap to expire in this table — six years of cover can end years early at Gulf highway mileages.
The one habit this table can’t replace: every warranty here is voided by missed or late services — and the calendars differ sharply: MG asks every 6 months; BYD’s PHEVs every 10,000 km/year, its EVs every 20,000/year. Whatever you buy, the service book is the warranty’s real foundation.
