BYD South Africa — Owner’s Guides

BYD’s South African range is broader than most markets — including the Sealion 5 DM-i, Atto 8 and Dolphin Surf that Australia doesn’t sell — and its warranty page hides a split most showroom visits never surface: two cars on the floor carry three-year cover while everything beside them carries five.

Mechanical references (model-level, global)

Fluids, capacities and documented problem patterns are model-level and live on our global pages: Atto 3 · Dolphin · Seal · Sealion 6 · Sealion 7 · Shark 6 · fault codes & warnings in BYD context. The 12V-bricking family pattern and the BOT-383/BOT384/Shell oil traps apply to the metal, not the market.

Sealion 5 DM-i, Atto 8 and Dolphin Surf are registered in our model database pending primary documentation — mechanical pages follow verification, never precede it.
